Terms of Use — Green Bookkeeping

Last updated: September 15, 2026

Green Bookkeeping ("Green Bookkeeping," "we," "us," or "our") owns and operates green-bookkeeping.com and any other websites that link to these Terms of Use (individually, a "Site" and collectively, the "Sites"). Through the Sites, Green Bookkeeping provides information, resources, forms, downloadable materials, and other offerings related to our bookkeeping services (each a "Service" and collectively, the "Services"). References to the Sites include the Services.

Green Bookkeeping may change, suspend, modify, or discontinue all or any part of the Sites in its discretion, with or without notice. We are not liable if all or any part of a Site is unavailable at any time or for any period. We reserve the right to block or deny access to the Sites when reasonably necessary, including to protect the Sites, our users, or Green Bookkeeping. We are not obligated to correct or update every item of information or content on the Sites.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use are an agreement between Green Bookkeeping and each person or entity that accesses or uses the Sites ("you" or "your"). Subject to your ongoing compliance with these Terms, Green Bookkeeping grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to access and use the Sites solely for their intended purposes.

If you access or use the Sites on behalf of a business or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that business or entity. In that case, "you" includes that business or entity and its authorized representatives.

By accessing or using the Sites, creating an account, submitting information or content, requesting a resource, or using a Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and the policies referenced in them. If you do not agree, do not use the Sites.

If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms before you use the Sites. By allowing a minor to use the Sites, the minor's parent or legal guardian agrees to be responsible for the minor's use of the Sites.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Unless otherwise stated, revised Terms become effective when posted on the Sites. If a change materially affects your rights, we may provide additional notice, such as an email or a notice on the Sites. Your continued use of the Sites after revised Terms become effective means that you accept the revised Terms. Disputes will be evaluated under the version of the Terms in effect when the dispute arose.

3. Accounts, Access, and Information You Provide

Some Site features may require you to create an account or provide information such as your name, email address, telephone number, or other contact information. You are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for activity that occurs through your account. Notify Green Bookkeeping promptly if you become aware of unauthorized access or use.

Information you provide must be accurate, current, and complete. Our collection and use of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Email and SMS Communications

4.1 Email communications

When you provide your email address to request the 10-Minute Bookkeeping Checkup or another resource, Green Bookkeeping may send you the requested resource or access information, follow-up questions about the resource, educational bookkeeping information, service updates, invitations to schedule a consultation, and other promotional emails.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the email. After you unsubscribe, we may still send non-promotional or administrative emails when reasonably necessary to respond to your request, provide a requested Service, maintain an account, or comply with law.

4.2 Optional SMS marketing program

Green Bookkeeping offers an optional SMS marketing program connected to the 10-Minute Bookkeeping Checkup. If you affirmatively select the separate SMS consent checkbox and submit the form, you consent to receive up to two marketing text messages from Green Bookkeeping at the telephone number you provided. These messages may ask how the checkup went and may invite you to schedule a bookkeeping consultation.

SMS consent is voluntary. It is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services, receiving the requested checkup, accessing the download page, or receiving email follow-up. You may submit the form without agreeing to receive text messages. Consent applies only to the telephone number you provide and to the messaging described in the consent disclosure.

By opting in, you represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of the telephone number provided and that you are authorized to consent to receive messages at that number. Text messages may be sent using an automated system or similar technology.

4.3 Message frequency and charges

For the 10-Minute Bookkeeping Checkup SMS program, you will receive no more than two text messages for each checkup request for which you separately provide SMS consent. Message and data rates may apply to messages sent to you and messages you send to us. Contact your wireless provider with questions about your text or data plan.

4.4 Opting out and obtaining support

You may cancel the SMS service at any time by replying STOP to a Green Bookkeeping text message. After you send STOP, we may send one final text message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After that confirmation, you will no longer receive messages from that SMS program unless you separately opt in again.

For assistance, reply HELP to a Green Bookkeeping text message or email [email protected].

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to effective transmission by your wireless carrier and is outside Green Bookkeeping's control.

4.5 Privacy

Our handling of personal information, including telephone numbers and SMS opt-in information, is described in our Privacy Policy. Please review that policy before submitting a form or consenting to communications.

5. User Content

The Sites may now or in the future allow users to submit, post, upload, display, or transmit information or materials, including answers to questions, comments, and documents (collectively, "User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.

By providing User Content through the Sites, you grant Green Bookkeeping a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, modify, and use that User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, improve, and support the Sites and Services, respond to your request, comply with law, or exercise or defend legal rights. This license ends when the User Content is no longer reasonably needed for those purposes, except where retention is required by law or maintained in routine backups.

You are responsible for the User Content you provide. You represent that you own or control the necessary rights to that content, that you are authorized to provide it, and that it complies with these Terms and applicable law.

6. Reliance on Information

Information on the Sites is provided for general informational purposes. It is not legal, tax, investment, or other professional advice and should not be treated as a substitute for advice tailored to your circumstances. Green Bookkeeping does not warrant that all Site information is complete, current, or error-free.

The Sites may include content supplied by third parties. Statements and opinions expressed in third-party content are solely those of the person or entity providing them. Green Bookkeeping is not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of third-party content.

7. Acceptable Use and Content Standards

You may not misuse the Sites, interfere with their operation or security, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or use them in violation of law. User Content must not:

  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights;
  • contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, abusive, harassing, hateful, violent, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful material;
  • impersonate another person or entity or misrepresent an identity or affiliation;
  • be deceptive or appear to be posted or endorsed by Green Bookkeeping when it is not;
  • promote, assist, or enable unlawful activity;
  • introduce malicious code or interfere with the Sites; or
  • conflict with these Terms or any policy that applies to a particular Service.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Sites may link to third-party websites, platforms, or services. Green Bookkeeping does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, availability, terms, security, or privacy practices. Your use of a third-party service is governed by that third party's terms and policies.

9. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content and third-party materials, the Sites and their content, features, design, text, graphics, logos, and other materials are owned by or licensed to Green Bookkeeping and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may use the Sites for their intended personal or internal business purposes, but you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, sell, license, or commercially exploit Site content without prior written permission, except as permitted by law.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Sites and Services are provided "as is" and "as available." Green Bookkeeping disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Sites will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free or that information obtained through the Sites will be accurate or reliable.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Green Bookkeeping and its owners, employees, contractors, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Sites or Services, even if advised that such damages were possible.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from or relating to them, the Sites, or the Services will be governed by the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal proceeding that is not subject to a valid arbitration agreement or another mandatory forum requirement must be brought in a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.

13. Severability and Waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms presented for a specific Service, constitute the agreement between you and Green Bookkeeping concerning the Sites and Services covered by those documents.
